Now may seem like a strange time of year to talk about clean air indoors but plants are easy to find and transport now. No fear of them freezing in the car on the ride home. They are readily available too at your local Big Box Home Improvement store. Cheap!
Indoor air quaility should be a concern for all of us. This is an easy way to imporve it in a safe and natural way. Be careful and do your research if you have children or dogs in the house and they like to eat plants. The Bamboo Palm (pictured below) is a safe bet for those of us with brown thumbs. Plus, its cute. I also have ivy. It's a pretty hardy air cleaner too. Sidenote: How to water a plant while you are away. Take an old plastic coke bottle (large for large plants, small for small) and drill the smallest hole ever into the cap that you can. Cut the bottom off of the bottle with scissors all the way around. Dig a small hole and push the bottle in upside down. Stabilize the bottle and fill with water. This should last you a few weeks, depending on the water needs of your plant. Keep the plants away from heating vents in the winter. As this really dries them out. www.slideshare.net/wellnessmama/best-houseplants-for-purifying-indoor-air
