I love to feel the earth directly under my feet. I love to dig in the dirt with my hands. A connection to the earth is clear as human beings, but litterally being physically connected has it's health benefits.
Reduces stress and anxiety to name a few. Read on friends. https://yogainternational.com/article/view/free-your-feet?utm_content=buffer7bd7a&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=buffer

What a huge subject I cannot even begin to explain! As there is so much still for me to learn. I love this "life science" stuff. The fact that basically all medicine is based off of the Ayurvedic treatment of illnesses is amazing. If you have any interest at all in natural health and healing, read this great aritcle from The Chopra Center. Then take a Dosha Quiz. The Dosha Quiz is below the picture. Take it and find a little insight on yourself, your body and what types of foods benefit your specific needs the most. http://www.chopra.com/our-services/ayurveda ![]() Take a look and save the dates fo rour Events/Workshops. Daily practice will usually be 0900 and also 6:00pm. PLEASE verify due to Workshops.
Please read for some info on the importance of being warm to practice a little asana. http://www.aurawellnesscenter.com/2016/01/26/the-importance-of-warm-ups-in-yoga/
I just cannot get enough of this youtube channel.
The legs help us walk, stand, run...you name it when it comes to standing and balance poses. Keeping them stron is of the utmost importance to be able to coninue with our daily lives. This video helps us take a look at the thigh like no other I have found. Also shows how the fascia keeps our body all put together nice and neat!!! Thank you 3D Anatomy Lion. Love your work. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bh1Cbsy__4o The benefits of turmeric and ginger have been known in the Eastern world for years. So how I have I not heard more about this magic potion? It's only been since I have been studying herbs and Ayurveda that I have come to have the tiniest grasp on what turmeric can do to help a body. It's some powerful stuff. I've been drinking this little concoction for a few weeks daily now. I' m down to one or two coffees a day. That's a big deal for someone like me. I love coffee....L O V E it!
When I wake I have this instead, thus I can get by with ony one cup in the am of coffee. Who'd a thought? This tea will clean the digestive tract, help prevent illness and promote healing in the body. Pretty sure coffee can't do any of those things. I'm sorry coffee...was that mean? Read about the benefits and find the recipe below. Good stuff. I use Lime instead of lemon, as I'm in Mexico and we have limes down here. http://www.greenkitchenstories.com/ginger-turmeric-honey-bomb/ A very important muscle in chaturanga dandasana is the serratus. As I prep for some anatomy classes, I found a video (w/o audio) on youtube. It's very helpful to understand the shoulder and specifically the serratus.
This muscle is also called "the boxer's muscle". I don't watch boxing, but I do appreciate a nice boxer's muscle. Here's the video. Pricelss if you are a yoga anatomy dork like me. Someday I hope to make my own tutorials on subjects like these. When I learn how to do more with my uber expensive computer that is... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tlcuAKTr1Y This may be worth a shot. What have you got to lose? When my head hits the pillow I start thinking about all the things I did, I have to do, what I did wrong...you know, the usual crazy.
I'm giving this a try. This is a method of meditation/relaxation that just may work. http://www.healthy-holistic-living.com/train-fall-asleep-60-seconds.html?t=FB FREE CHRONIC NECK TENSION Here's how: Interlace your fingers behind your neck. Bring elbows closer together infront of your neck/face. Slowly turn head from side to side as you breathe deeply for 2-minutes. Continue to breathe; calm rhythmic breathing can slow the pulse and relax the mind and body. Practice twice daily. Maybe upon waking and at bedtime or anytime during the work day. While sitting att he computer is also agreat time, as this tends to be when we are creating that nasty forward bend in the neck.
