Though the inability to reach your tow should NEVER stop anyone from attending a yoga class, there is something to actually holding your big toe. The Meridian lines for one. Esther explains this well.

Your routine in the am/pm is probably a toxic shitstorm. For no reason. Switch to some natural products. Even better: make your own to stay healthier and save dinero. This is not just directed towards women.
Men: you all use a ton yourselves. Shaving cream, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, after-shave... www.davidwolfe.com/8-toxic-beauty-care-chemicals/ There are several potential explanations for why the brains of regular meditators differ from non-meditators. First, the concentration and focused attention required in most forms of meditation may even stimulate growth in neural structures and promote increased connectivity and efficiency within neural networks. A second possibility is that meditation actually buffers the brain and nervous system against the effects of chronic stress, which may reduce pro-inflammatory response, and inhibit age-related brain change. Who knew? Meditators, that's who knew. :)

Some believe there are 108 stages on the journey of the human soul, while others associate the possibility of enlightenment with taking only 108 breaths a day, while in deep meditation. No matter who you ask, the answer will most likely be different each time. The truth is — the significance of 108 beads on your mala is open to interpretation. Which we love. As mala beads were traditionally created to be used as a tool in meditation, I like to associate it with the ideals of meditation. However — I believe mala beads are also beautiful mediums to set intentions, manifest, and generally feel good. You don't have to meditate on the beads, although that's what they are made for in a practical sense. Malas are usually handknotted between each seed and gemstone, allowing one to chant their mantra — a sound or string of words — and keep track of were they are easily. Mala necklaces all reflect the number 108. Almost all malas have 108 beads, while some have 216 (double), or 54 (half). Here are some more popular reasons behind the 108 mythology in mala beads. Chakras One of my favourite explanations for having 108 beads on a mala is related to the chakras (the seven energy points in our body). It has been said there there are 108 energy lines connecting to the heart, with one of them believed to be the path to self realization. Mantras When using your mala beads in meditation and chanting your mantra, some have said you are complete once you have done it 100 times. The 8 extra beads are to account for errors. How cool is that? Or even more beautiful, the possible extra 8 are meant to be an offering to your guru. Letters Many choose to recite their mantra in sanskrit, the ancient script of India. Within the Saksrit alphabet there are 54 letters. Each letter has a feminine and masculine version — totalling 108. What's your favourite connection to having 108 beads on your mala? Here's a super simple yet massively effective mask for clearer healthier skin. From acne issues to clear pores. Make sure you have washed your face thoroughly with warm water so your face is clean and pores are open and ready to receive this mask. Add 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar.
Of course you can add other fun ingredients. Like An egg, turmeric, cinnamon, facial mask clay...the list goes on and on. ACV and honey are great for the hair too. For years now I have had neck pain. I get massages regularly and try to do the best I can to alleviate the pain. Here's a short video from one of the youtube doctors I like that really works. I just did it. I feel better.

www.iloveyogamaya.com/ytt-costa-rica.html Here's a great little vid from my favorite PT guys on youtube. These three/four simple tests in the video will help you not only understand what muscle does what with the shoulder movement (remember the SITS acronym) but may help you determine if you have a rotator cuff injury. Of course you need to see a doctor and we are not doctors here. Not diagnosing anything.
Many people come to yoga with rotator cuff problems. You as a teacher may have a situation with your shoulder and not know what is going on. Keep this video in your "library" and refer back to it on occasion. Education is key. Keep learning and applying. The supraspinatus is the one pictured here as the "torn" muscle because it usually is the one that gets injured. This is for all ages but TBH if you are over 40 your chances of having this injury just got higher. Just like your insurance premiums. Jajajajaja....not funny really. www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHlE5V180R4 When my grandkids' lead levels came back high. We all shit ourselves for a few minutes, then I went to the google, researching natural remedies like a wild woman. After a few hours of research, I came accross a lot of information on aloe vera juice. I told my daugther to buy some and add to their juice/water. The doctor had NEVER seen lead levels come down so rapidly. He asked my daughter what she did. She said she was born from a hippie goddess who has mad internet creeping skills.
Please read for the many benefis of Aloe: www.prevention.com/beauty/aloe-juice-benefits As I was researching (yet again) the meaning behind malas I came across this tidbit of information about the tassel. The tassel at the end of the mala is to be wrapped 12 times around the fingers (this creates the tassel basically). This represents the 12 vedic houses. Then the tassel is tied at the center folded over and wrapped 5 times to close it and secure it. This 5 wrappings represent the 5 earth elements. Then what does not serve you any longer is cut away. Pretty cool eh? Here's the 12 Vedic Houses.
