Ashtanga yoga is a type of yoga that follows the same specific asanas in the same sequence, every single time.
To me, it is boring and I do not care for it at all. Other yogis love it. LOVE IT! Why? It is a routine that they can make progress on, and see the progress. If you only ever do these specific 26 poses. You will see, daily how you are or are not "improving" They also say you can go into "autopilot" and get a more meditative state out of your yoga practice. Here's more info on Ashtanga, created by Jois. Years ago, for basically 12 year old boys to burn off some of their energy. lol. This page explains a lot about Ashtanga, and even has a PDF and a MP3 for you to give it a try. Why not? Make your own decisions about this popular practice. Just because it's not my cup of tea, doesn't mean it won't be yours. Enjoy and tell me what you think of Ashtanga. http://www.ashtangayoga.info/practice/
